Hey everyone, I know things have been slow going. So, in an effort to keep things from becoming dry and stale on this site, I want ideas from all of you of how I can keep things interesting. I know a new tutorial would do that, but I am looking for other things. Perhaps a forum, challenges (with rewards), and whatever. I tried user tutorials, but not very many of your are the teaching type I guess. Let me all know what you come up with (leave your idea in the comments).
Did you like this tutorial/blog post? Feel free to donate to keep more comin', and have more contests.
I just stumbled across this site, and I must say, I’ll definitely read these tutorials! Most of the concepts are stuff that I already know, but the organization and presentation is amazing! You do a really good job of explaining things, and keeping them organized in what I think is a very nice OOP way =D
I think the Coding challenges are very cool ideas. Little things like that are great for learning, practicing, and even keeping sharp =)
SDL challenges? Sounds cool))
I think that sdl challenge is cool idea (:
Sorry about that. phpBB3 does permissions all funky – I have fixed this.
Is it me or can’t we make threads on the new forum?
Thanks for the comments,
Terry, we’ll be getting to that soon – the series is leading up to just that.
Saido, I am adding a forum today. I’m just hoping people will use it and not let it sit there. State management will be coming too, which should involve entity management more or less.
Ow yeah I would like to see the next tutorials
Things I would like to see is scene-graph and state management, this in combination with gameobject (entity) organizing.
These tutorials are great because they explain the things I always wanted to know about game programming!
I think a place to discuss things would be great, like a forum.
Hello! First of all, congratulations for your website. I think it would be great a tutorial of a full game, and not just parts, in order to understand everything.
